Preparing the deceased for the funeral

Our experienced team of funeral arrangers will support you each step of the way when planning the funeral of your loved one. In preparation for the funeral, we will undertake several procedures and services when caring for the deceased, dependent on the funeral package and option you choose.

What you can expect

We care for your loved one as if they were our own

Our highly skilled and experienced staff will wash, embalm* and dress the deceased.

If required, we can add any jewellery or personal possessions to the coffin (not all items are suitable for a cremation).

When looking after your loved one, we will endeavour to respect your faith and uphold any customs to which it adheres.

We can dress them in their own clothes or in a gown that we provide.

Visiting the deceased

We offer a range of options to suit your personal preferences

We can arrange private Chapel visits for family and friends prior to the funeral at your local Welham Jones funeral home.

We can also take the deceased to the church the night before the funeral for a Reception of the Body service, if required.

If you would like the deceased taken home, this can also be arranged.

Looking after your loved one after cremation

We can look after the cremated remains for you until such a time as you decide what you would like to do with them.

We can also organise interment of the cremated remains and supply a memorial tablet or plaque.
