What’s the difference between a direct cremation and an unattended cremation?
In practice, they’re usually the same thing, a cremation without a service or mourners present. Some providers use “unattended” and others use “direct”, but the arrangement itself doesn’t change. We’ll always confirm exactly what’s included before you decide.
Can family members attend a direct cremation?
Not as a rule, that’s what makes it “direct” rather than attended. If you’d like even a small number of people present, an attended cremation or a small, intimate service is usually a better fit, and we can talk through both options.
How much does a cremation cost in Borough Green?
It depends on the package and choices you make. Purely Cremation and our CMA packages are priced clearly, and third-party fees, the crematorium fee, doctor’s fees, are set out separately. Call us on 01732 780600 and we’ll talk you through current costs.
Do you get a coffin with a direct cremation?
Yes. A simple, respectful coffin suitable for cremation is included as standard. If you’d prefer something different, we can talk through the other options available.
Are prepaid cremation plans protected if a provider stops trading?
Our prepaid plans are arranged with Ecclesiastical Planning Services and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, so your payment is protected under FCA rules. We can explain exactly how that protection works when you get in touch.
Can we hold a memorial service after a direct cremation?
Yes, and quite a few Borough Green families choose to do exactly that. A memorial or celebration of life can be held whenever suits you, at a venue such as Wrotham Village Hall, once the ashes have been returned.
How long does it take to arrange a cremation?
From the day someone dies to the cremation itself is usually around a week to ten days, though this can vary depending on the crematorium and any paperwork needed. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe once we know the details.
Which crematoria do you use for Borough Green families?
We work closely with Vinters Park Crematorium in Maidstone and Medway Crematorium at Blue Bell Hill. Both are well within reach of Borough Green, Wrotham and the surrounding villages, and we’ll help you choose based on timing and preference.
