What is the difference between a cemetery and a crematorium?

A cemetery is a large open burial ground, run privately or run by the local authorities, they can sometimes be called memorial parks. A crematorium is a place that carries out cremations.

Some crematoria, especially those with attached cemeteries, offer the choice of burial or cremation; others only offer cremation. We have indicated this where relevant.

I used the Sevenoaks branch and the staff were caring and we received an excellent service all round. Nicky Rose’s advice and guidance was a great help at a very difficult time.
