It is a legal requirement to formally register the death of a person in England and Wales with five working days. We’ve pulled together details of the Registrar’s Offices near to our branches in Kent and Southeast London.

Registrar’s Offices in Kent and Southeast London

To register a death you will need to make an appointment and see the Registrar. Some Local Authorities have a telephone booking line or online booking system. Other authorities require you to attend the registrar’s office at the address given below.

Deaths in Darent Valley Hospital may be registered in either Bexley or Kent.

Kent County Council

Kent County Council delivers the registration service for events occurring in Kent and Bexley, including deaths at Darent Valley Hospital. Kent does not include the Medway Towns (Chatham, Gillingham, Rochester and Strood).

This service is provided through Kent Libraries, Gateways and Register Offices.

Giving as much information as possible is ideal when registering the death of a loved one. Provide as many of the following details and documents as possible:
