Business Networking with Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce
After a 2 year break from hosting a Sevenoaks Chamber Event due to COVID, we are back. In true Welham Jones style we joined hands with the new Bluebell Cemetery in Halstead to showcase who we are and what we do. Bluebell opened in June 2019 and we have been using them ever since, so it seemed fitting that we should come together for such an event.
We decided to shake things up a bit and move away from the typical presentation talks, any one fancy a go at the ‘Generation Game!!!’…
The first go was Welham Jones, we showed the audience our attention and level to detail when it comes to carrying out a funeral. We carried a (fake weighted) coffin into the chapel and placed it on the catafalque flawlessly.
Four kind volunteers were then called upon to carry out the same procedure. We gave them a briefing on what to expect and how to carry. With one volunteer saying, ‘OMG it’s so heavy’. Some hiccups along the way but overall, they did really well.
The point to this is what you are wondering?
As a business we strive to give a personal service, we go the extra mile, our attention to detail is second to none and we allow families to have as much or as little involvement in the process as they wish. It is their loved one’s funeral, and it must be done right for them. No funeral is the same, and we want to make sure each family has the celebration of life they would want without any worries.
Choosing a funeral director is an important decision. Organising a funeral for a loved one – or planning your own funeral – is a key milestone event in your life. But how can you tell whether the funeral directors you are considering will treat you with professionalism, respect and empathy, that they will treat your loved one with dignity, and that they will deliver on the day? Our guide will help you make the right choice.
At Welham Jones, our funeral ‘first responders’ are at the heart of our care. We’re currently recruiting a new funeral first responder to join our trusted team, helping local families across West Kent and South East London at their time of need. But what does the job involve, and why is it so meaningful? We spoke to Jason Carr, a long-standing member of our team, to find out why this flexible and rewarding role is unlike any other.
What people would like to happen at their own funerals
by Rebecca Welham
How would you like your life to be commemorated? A recent survey suggests that, while some traditional funeral elements remain evergreen choices, some contemporary ideas are gaining definite ground among those thinking about their own funerals.
