Pam’s journey into funeral care began following the loss of several close family members in a short space of time. Wanting to support others through similar experiences, she applied for a role as a funeral arranger, quickly discovering that this was work she felt called to do.
A year later, Pam trained as a Funeral Director and has continued in this role for 17 years. Since joining Welham Jones 11 years ago, Pam has worked primarily in logistics and mortuary operations, while still regularly supporting families as a Funeral Director when needed.
With over 25 years in the funeral profession under her belt, Pam remains deeply committed to her work. As she puts it, Welham Jones feels like “home”, and she cannot imagine doing anything else.
Outside of work, Pam enjoys travelling, motorcycling, rock music and reading. Much of her spare time is happily spent at music concerts, on excursions, and making memories with her grandchildren.
Pam plays a vital role in supporting our team and the smooth running of our funeral operations across West Kent and South East London. Her responsibilities include overseeing logistics, managing mortuary care, coordinating the movement and care of the deceased, and ensuring funeral arrangements run seamlessly behind the scenes.
Having previously worked in a similar role for a much larger funeral company, Pam brought extensive experience with her when she joined us. Because of this, she was trusted from day one to manage her role independently, without the need for formal onboarding or close supervision.
