Things To Do in Borough Green
Shopping
As you would expect from a small village, shops are limited (check). However there is a local supermarket, a number of convenience stores, a bank, post office and pharmacy.
Outdoor Activities
Only 1.7 miles away you have one of Kent’s finest gardens, Great Comp Garden. Where you can visit the 17th century manor house and explore the seven acres of grounds that contain rare and beautiful plants, including the Italian Garden and woods.
Located 2.7 miles away near Plaxtol, is the small 13th century Old Soar Manor, built in 1290 and originally owned by the Culpepper family, but now owned by English Heritage and maintained by the National Trust.
If you fancy getting some fresh country air, take a walk in the 17 acres of Basted Mill Woodland which is only 1 mile from the centre of Borough Green. Originally the old Basted paper mill was situated in the area and had been in use from 1716. Though burnt down in 1917, it was rebuilt but finally closed in 1968 after suffering damage in the floods of September of that year.
